looking at the logs, i have the below message

log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (oracle.sysman.emSDK.svlt.EMServletUtil).

OMS version 11.1.0.1.0 is not compatible with repository version 10.2.0.4.0 Repository needs to be upgraded.

However, i know that our DB is 11.1.0.7.0 , so not sure why OMS thinks the version is old? any pointers?

As we all know, in OEM grid 11gR1 instalation, OEM has assigned it self a default port 7799 ( https://localhost.com:7799/em/console/logon/logon).

How can we change this port and which service we need to restart.

oracle manual says i need grid to install asm why is this.

For some reason I cannot log onto Grid 11 using IE. Other browsers work fine (FF) but IE does not. When I click on the login button nothing happens. Has anyone come across this issue?

Dropping an empty table takes forever

Hi - Dropping and truncating tables is taking forever on my system. I can run a create table as select * from duel and then immediatly drop it and it can take upto 15 minutes. This is an oracle 9 environment running on solaris with 1000's of updates. I have checked the waits in the database and all seems to be okay, but i am getting io waits on the veritas filesystems. How can this be on an empty table?

I have written a Unix Shell script where, the data gets loaded into the Oracle table from an Input.csv file, and an e-mail notification will be sent if the data load is a success or a failure to the users.
I am in need of modifying the script. I need the following to be modified in my script.
1) The script should count the number of line in the Input.csv file and send an email to the users.
2) The script should notify the users the the Input.csv file contains duplicate records in it (if any duplicate records exists).
3) If no duplicate records exists in the input.csv file and the data gets loaded into the Oracle table, the script should calculate the total no. of records loaded into the table, and e-mail the users.

I need this script in Unix. Can anyone please help me out with this..

I'm doing an 11g install on Linux5.3 and i want to ensure net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range is set to 9000 to 65500 yet when i issue this command, it returns nothing:

When I use DBCA to create an ASM instance for a two node RAC cluster I get the following errors reported in logfile ASMInstance.log
